Course Description

Volt Edge is delivering a Nationally Recognised Inspectors course, which is a course designed to allow a Hazardous Area Electrician to:ea Electrician to:
Be authorised at a particular site as an Inspector.
Used as technical back up for the QLD Hazardous Areas Auditors application.
OR
Used at technical back up for the Victorian H class inspectors course and application.

Course Delivery

Live Web - Live web is a computer version of a face to face course.  The course is run with a teacher in attendance at all times. The student can do the course anywhere in Australia with the use of a computer and camera.  Practical achieved via our live web SCADA interface

Note: We recommend two screens to be used on a computer or laptop.

Note: Delivered in all states using Brisbane Time 7:30 am to 4:30 pm

Face to Face – Traditional face to face is still our preferred method.  The rules are constantly changing speak to our training consultants to see where we are upto in your state

This is a 5 day Live Web course with a mix of practical and theory. The person, when deemed competent, should be able to inspect previous completed a detailed inspection of a hazardous area installation and then create an auditable document list of non-compliances and which clause in the Australian Standards that is required.

You will require a computer/laptop, good internet connection, speakers, web camera.

Outcomes

After successful completion of this course, students will have the skills to:
Verify hazardous classification for the area.
Select and check equipment, wiring and accessories.
Design system and installation.
Audit hazardous areas documentation (verification dossier).
Prepare to audit as-built installation.
Establish and implement procedures for maintaining explosion-protection.

Students who do not meet the pre-requisite requirements and still undertake the course can gain a statement of completion (non-accredited outcome)

Pre-Requisites

Granting competency in this unit shall be made after or concurrently with confirming competency in any one of the following units:
UEENEEM024A Install explosion-protected equipment and wiring systems gas atmospheres
OR
Competencies in planning general electrical/instrumentation installations at AQF4 or equivalent. Examples are (but not limited to):
UEENEEG125A Plan electrical installations with a low voltage demand up to 400 A per phase
UEENEEI112A Verify compliance and functionality of instrumentation and control installations

EENEEM056A Plan Electrical installations of hazardous areas – pressurisation
Pre-Requisites

Granting competency in this unit shall be made after or concurrently with confirming competency in any one of the following units:
UEENEEM026A Install explosion-protected equipment and wiring systems pressurisation
OR
Competencies in planning general electrical/instrumentation installations at AQF4 or equivalent. Examples are (but not limited to):
UEENEEG125A Plan electrical installations with a low voltage demand up to 400 A per phase
UEENEEI112A Verify compliance and functionality of instrumentation and control installations

UEENEEM057A Design explosion-protected electrical systems and installations – gas
Pre-Requisites

Granting competency in this unit shall be made after confirming competency in designing electrical systems and installations at AQF level 6 or equivalent. Examples are (but not limited to):
